Tomica
Tomica, a portmanteau of "Tomy" and "car", is a line of die-cast toy vehicles. They are produced by the toy company Tomy beginning in 1970, and Takara Tomy after the 2006 merger. Tomica is thought to be an offshoot of Plarail, which has been releasing railroad toys since 1959.
They are comparable to the western Hot Wheels and Matchbox lines of toy cars. Throughout the years, there have been many different lines released under the Tomica name, including toys based off of real-world vehicles of all kinds, more fantastical ones, licensed characters such as Disney, and many different tracks and playsets.
